AB 315 (Wood, Dahle, Nazarian and Stone) is on the Governor's Desk!
AB 315 (Wood, Dahle, Nazarian & Stone) which would require that Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs) be regulated by the California Department of Managed Health Care, is now on the Governor's desk. He has until the end of September to decide whether to sign or veto the bill.

We are tremendously grateful to our members who contacted their state Senators and state Assemblymembers on this important issue. More than 800 pharmacists reached out to their representatives, which resulted in 102 legislators in both the Senate and Assembly supporting AB 315, while only 2 voted against. The PBMs and the Health Plans exhausted all options to try and create confusion, misdirection and overall uncertainty in order to get members of the Legislature to oppose AB 315.  Ultimately, their efforts could not overcome the power of grassroots advocacy by our member pharmacists.

To continue your grassroots advocacy, send a message to the Governor and urge him to sign AB 315 into law.

Our strength in numbers makes us louder and stronger. Encourage your non-member pharmacy owner colleagues to help us protect pharmacists' rights when dealing with PBMs by becoming a CPhA member!
